Ghetto People Show

It seems that the opposing forces against Dr. Kingsley “Ragashanti” Stewart has succeeded in booting him off the airwaves, although, it was he who willfully resign.
But I would just like to inform those that are cheering the discontinuance of the show; that Ragashanti will always live on in our hearts and minds and our support for him grows even stronger. News talk 93fm from 9am to 12noon weekdays will never be the same as the plethora of listeners across Jamaica will hang in disappointment over the abrupt seizure of a program that they have grown to be a part of.
New stalk has made the biggest mistake since their existence on the airwaves and will regret it because their audience will be reduced to only a few in the intellectual circles.
There is nothing wrong, and Leon Pryce will repeat without apology, there is absolutely nothing wrong with what Ragashanti has been doing.
Jamaica is the land of ‘mix-up and blenda’ and this is the only show on the air waves catering to a peculiar people. Yes, Ragashanti live is a 'ghetto people' show and it is the only of its kind we can relate to. The so called ‘educated people’ of Jamaica don`t have a problem with vulgarity, what they have a problem with is that they cannot call and talk about regular societal issues, so this is not their show. Ragashanti is of a uniquely contemporary genre. Dr. Kingsley Stewart is young, gifted and from the ghetto, for the ghetto.

air Jamaica

Have you flown on air Jamaica lately? How did you enjoy your flying experience?
Well, I’ve never flown before, but that doesn`t stop me from having a wonderful experience with my country`s national love bird. I tell you, I miss the plane already. It would be unfair and bias for me to say that every Jamaican is against the sale of air Jamaica but I know for certain that at least majority is. I heard from good source that the Jamaican government had no intention of sell the plane to any local interest, and one of the main reason for that is because they don`t want anybody rallying back on them for assistance.
From all indications it seems that all odds are against the pilots but I love their resilience, motivation and persistence. Trust me, they remind me of whom I am suppose to be and am fighting to become.
I often times wonder when our Jamaican government ago stop sell out and start invest. Like the pilots, it is we who are suppose to fight to keep what belong to us. Let us throw our full support in for them. Honestly, even though their chances seem like it is on the long distance track, I wish all other negotiations for the sale of air Jamaica fail, and end up in the lap of the airline staff.
My family and friends in foreign lands will be greatly disappointed to know that the one symbol of identification is being confiscated. What i`ve learnt from them is when coming home to Jamaica, once they boarded the plane, they felt at home already; plus the advantage they have when traveling on air Jamaica is not granted on other airlines. Let us keep the memories of our beloved love bird flying in our hearts.

I have been busy trying to get myself acquainted with this valuable tool and trying to get my writing life organized. So my dear readers please continue to support me by visiting and leaving your comments which I so greatly appreciate.

Cold Front

It was a dark, cold, and lonely day today on my side of jamaica. I tried my best to toughened up but my poor little skinny body could not put up much resistance. When I woke up this morning it was raining but not very hard, so I didn't think I had needed any armour. But when I reached work it was as if the weather had turned a new page on me. I felt such hard cold breesze enwrapped me, my body responded with a shiver.
So here I am thinking that we were through the cold season, but I had to think twice this morning. When I looked around, my coworkers already throw on their jackets and I was left in the cold. When I called my wife to complain about my cold condition and have her warm me up with her sweet voice; only then did she inform me that the weatherman had already announced that there would be a cold-front passing over Jamaica.
It is Ash wednesday and a holiday, so there is not much activity going on here on my location. So I thanked God most of the time that when yielded to the cold breeze and hug myself, there is no one around. Sometimes I even got up and walk around a bit so I can shkake off some of the cold but only little did it do. Worse of all I was located ouutside in the open air so all odds were against me. But I was praying for the rain to fall so that I could have run into a building nearby as a means of escape but no such luck fell on me.
The dark clouds took precedence over the day and when the sun tried to shine it was voted out. However I spent most of my day surfing the internet with my new blackberry and just waited anxiously for the day to end. And thank God it did.

prayer for Haiti

Welcome reader. You have acted in good faith by clicking on the link which leads you to this blog site. Haiti is in need of a lot things right now, some of which me and you are unable to supply. We may not have anything materially to contribute but there is one thing which is of invaluable worth that we always have with us and can never give too much of, and that is LOVE ( Living Overflowing Vital Energy). And the everlasting source of our love is ever giving us more of what we have. So let us keep in touch with that source so we will be able to share with the world.

Dear heavenly father. We bless your name because your name is a name that is above all other name. Lord you are a mighty creator and all that you create is wonderful. The earth is yours and all therein, you are a potter who can mend any broken vessel, you are able to fit all pieces together perfectly. Before you our wonderful creator we place the broken nation of Haiti, in your healing hands we place its people. We pray that they will humble themselves and turn to you the true and living God who is full of mercy and ready and waiting to hear from them so you will heal their land. But right now heavenly father, on behalf of this humble blogger and this faithful reader who has joined me with faith in petition for your mercies for the people of Haiti and upon their land. We would like to join our hearts in love through this screen which is connecting us from different parts of the world. Right now we are pleading to you for a worthy cause, we are begging you loving father to open your ear to our humble and sincere cry; we pray to you in the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight; our Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Amen.

Thank you my dear reader for joining me in reaching out to the pillar of our strength, our prayer will never go unanswered. May the heavenly father continue to richly bless you and you are welcome to my blog page anytime. Remember, the greatest gift comes from the heart.

comedy fest

It was a comedy fest held at Pier one in Montego Bay with what are suppose to be some of Jamaica`s best comedians. My wife and I went and we could hear the audience cracking up from a far since we were late because I never got the chance to leave work on time so when I came home dinner, dressing and other preparations took out a few hours but upon arrival it was obvious that the show was boiling up.

A few acts had already performed and emcees Chuchu and Pretty Boy Floyd were keeping the people on the edge of their seat. But certain act was a joke and just did not give the patrons what they hoped to get. I`m talking about the Professor nuts who in his effortless attempt to change rearrange his style of performance almost bring the show to a halt. The audience expected him to come on stage and reeled out some of his good old lyrics like “in a de bus,’ ‘funny guy’ etc., but the bedtime story thing didn`t quite make it and it caused a walkout the moment the professor started out by telling stories. In addition to causing further boredom the professor forgot his backup CD and the accapella would have worked if he had just jumped straight into his act. Since I had much more serious obligations my wife and I walked out with the crowd so I only can assume that other comedian acts were left to perform for an audience with 85% empty chairs.

Earlier acts such as Ity and Fancy Cat, Lemon and Granny gave some outstanding performances that left the crowd begging for more. A lot of people who didn`t have tickets didn`t bother to pay for entrance since they could get a full show outside the fence; this was something my wife and I observed outside before entering.

christmas adventure

I do not believe in Christmas and I don’t celebrate it merely because of religious reasons and base on my own knowledge and research proof. But I love the holidays and jolidays whenever they come around, only problem is that my job does not give holidays off.

My wife and I had been planning a trip to visit my family in Clarendon but somehow it didn`t materialize because we could not come up with the necessary resources such as enough money and a vehicle but thanks be to God, my darling sister-in-law and her kind understanding husband offered to take us there and how happy we were when everything was finalized.

It had been two years since I last visited my home and I missed my dear sweet grandmother so much. Everybody was so happy to see us and we had so much to talk about even my homeboys were so excited they thought I was abroad and wanted me to flash off a few US dollars. What complimented the trip over all is when my sister-in-law and her husband got introduced to my family. It was a unification long overdue because my grandmother had always wanted to know other members of my wife`s family especially her mom and my sister-in-law had always wanted to know my grandmother. All went well and everybody promised to stay in touch with each other. I took a lot of pictures most of which I am not included because I was the one who was taking all the pictures and by the end of the day my camera bowed out on me because I bought batteries that were not compatible with my camera.

Now otherwise from my mother-in-law the only other person who should have made this trip was my nephew-in-law and good friend. The Gaza Don mafia I wanted most of all to make this trip more successful than it is because it would have been my Christmas treat for him but after I made him promise that he would join the trip he went ahead and party all night. But being the god-fearing uncle I am I forgave him.

Leon Pryce would like for all his family both in Montego Bay and Clarendon to know that I sincerely appreciate them making this the best Christmas ever. The reception we from Montego Bay received was a heart-warming welcome. (whispering) you should have seen my sister-in-law how she just relax and make herself at home-maan!! Also I was so busy getting around that I totally ignored my stomach-not good. And my brother-in-law get his street vibe thing going on so much that he gained the favor of the guys in my community and they called him the “Godfather” big up T.

I really have to give it up to Mr. T who sponsored this trip and never complained and I must tell you people ‘gas no cheap’ especially for certain vehicle if you know what I mean and although I never had much money on me at the time and could only contribute a meager sum and Mr. T never showed me any face. So my respect sir T and may Jah continue to bless you and your wife as you people deserve heavens doors to be open for you red carpet style.

Thank you heavenly father for keeping us safe on our journey that day because without you nothing is possible.

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas just as well as I did and I am very happy to share my Christmas visit with you and remember I appreciate any comments and criticism because nobody`s perfect. Love you and wish for you God`s blessings.

Let`s reason

Give me a chance to talk to my readers.

I would like my readers to know what`s going on with me. (Somebody say talk Mr. Pryce)

Let me tell you my readers why blogging is so important to me. I never made it in print. Unfortunately Leon Pryce is not so fortunate in earning a byline in the print magazines both locally and international. So here on the web page is my new home where i`m free to be myself and get on bad however I like. Thanks be to god with a smile.

Yes! This is my place to be me and make an appeal to a wider and more varied audience. And you know what, it is good for me because some people just can`t bother with the papers and magazines, they rather sit in front of a computer and surf.

But still I will oblige if there is anyone out there who knows of a magazine or newspaper who might be willing to tolerate my frantics and they think I have a chance of getting publish. I will be more than happy to go out there and do some research and compose a decent article for them.

But for now i`m happy being me being here. So just keep visiting and enjoy knowing what my world is like. I welcome you and please feel free to post a comment.

Love you my dear reader

every writer is a star

every writer is a star in their own write no matter who you are and where you are because it is not an easy task to pick up the pen better yet put it to paper and create something. so today, whenever you as a writer look at this i want you to feel motivated and be positive as a writer. because you are a star.

Our Father

The Our Father prayer still remains the prayer of a lifetime even after two thousand years after Jesus taught his disciples to pray. Read Mathew 6:9.
Here I have customized this beautiful prayer to fit in my daily life activities and you may do the same if it suits you. May God bless you throughout 2010.

Our father who is in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come.
Let your will be done on earth as it is being done in heaven.
Give us daily bread to survive. And forgive us our sins; likewise help us to forgive those who sin against us.
Guide our paths away from temptation and deliver us from any evil that may befall us.
The kingdom is yours; the power and the glory belong to you forever. Amen.
