Women Who Grew Me

May God continue to bless the women of my family. I never had a biological mother because my mother passed away when I was very young but the amount of women who mothered me throughout life; believe me when I told you that I never missed not possessing a biological mother.

The women I grew up with were strong, dedicated and affectionate. I felt loved and accepted as though I really belonged to a family. This Mothers` Day I would like to reflect on my life growing up and the contribution the women of my family had made to my life. My heart is filled with love and I am compelled to reach out with gratitude and express in a very simple way the love, respect and honor I have for those great strong women who had made such tremendous impact on my life.

Thanks to those of you who played the role of sister, mother, aunt, mentor and disciplinarian; also to those who were there when I was sad and lonely and cheered me up. Thank you for the motivation, the inspiration, the hugs and kisses, the guidance, the listening hears and the prayers. I entered this world through one woman`s womb but thanks be to God for providing me with mothers, women in my life who cared for me and nurtured me as though I was their own.

I see the women of my family as queens and princesses and worthy to be crowned with honor and love. Today is your day to smile and acknowledge that you are worthy of the blessings which the Lord has in store for you. Today may be the day which the world stops to recognize you as mothers but for me, I recognize the role you played in my life as a mother every day.
